I retired, as Professor Emeritus, from CUNY in 1997, and from
Yeshiva University in 2001, in order to continue to write, lecture,
consult, and engage in mathematics-related projects and initiatives.
Currently, I am editor of the Media Highlights column in The College
Mathematics Journal and serve as a judge with the Society for
Industrial & Applied Mathematics in Moody’s Mega Math
Modeling Competition. I am also working on an honors Precalculus
text that I believe will be a better alternative for many students
to AP Calculus. I've served as a consultant for The Mathematical
Association of America and, for eighteen years, as Secretary of the
Mathematics Section of the American Association for the Advancement
of Science.
